This is an ice fishing jig. I took it out to lake Simcoe 2 times a week all winter (2019/2020) and I found that it just didn't hold up to my other jigs in terms of getting a reaction from the fish.
Lake Simcoe is known for its jumbo perch in the winter. So well known in fact we get many US anglers up here during the winter months. However I was not able to catch a single perch
with this lure. We had days where we were catching 30+ (12-16inch) Perch without issue but it just didn't seem to get any bites. I also noticed the bottom chipped off a pretty sizeable chunk.
Probably wouldn't recommend this to people and to either go with a slab grabber or lunkerhunts straight up lure if you want results.
Another reviewer mentioned its hard to find these locally near him (assume this style) and I just wanted to give some insight from someone where these styles are common and used frequently.
These jigs are very unique and are extremely hard to find, (actually nearly impossible) in the Upper Peninsula. I’ve read many reviews on how well they do when targeting walleye and whities. I was a little disappointed in what colors were available in stock but did manage to get a decent selection. I look forward to using them on my next trip out.
